All of us at ALS strive to
create international schools in which attention is paid to
the language, culture and history of our host nation. This
means that, while local students maintain and develop their
place in Saudi society, students from other countries are
able to gain first-hand experience of the culture of their
host country and all ALS students benefit from being exposed
to variety, new experiences and differences of many kinds.
All of us who study and work at
Advanced Learning Schools help to forge the school culture
since it is made up of the sum of interactions between
people. We are enabled by the fact that:
4We
are accredited by the Council of International Schools.
4The
IB learner profile, with its ten descriptors, is central to
our thinking.
4We
maintain and continue to develop the status of Arabic
Language, Arabic Social Studies and
Islamic
Studies at our school.
4We
are an authorized International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme school.
4we
are an authorized International Baccalaureate Diploma Years
Programme school.
4we
are a candidate International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme school.
Our aim is to provide every
student with a learning environment that enables him or her
to thrive in our interdependent world where global
opportunities and challenges face us daily
The Board of Trustees made a decision to implement the
curricular programmes of the International Baccalaureate (IB)
at the Advanced Learning Schools. The schools are authorized
to implement the IB Diploma Programme (DP) in grades 11
and 12 Primary Years Programme (PYP) school for grades K to
6 . Work on the Middle Years Programme has already begun,
and it is our plan to become a three programme IB World
School. We are now an Authorized IB PYP School.
All three programmes necessitate active student
participation, practical strategies and academic rigour. |
