History of the Wolves
In the Fall of 2018, the ALS Administration began a process for the school to select a "mascot" to be used for the school's athletic teams and to assist in developing an increased sense of school pride and unity amongst the staff and students.
In October of 2018 and in separate meetings, ALS Administration met with representatives of the Student Council from both the Boys' and Girls' campuses. During those meetings, each Student Council developed a top ten list of possible school mascots for the staff and students to vote on. Those two lists when then combined to form one list of options
Below is the list of mascot options developed by the Boys' and Girls' Campuses:
- Leopards
- Vipers
- Vultures
- Cobras
- Wasp
- Lighting
- Dragons
- Lynx
- Wolves
- Desert Cats
- Red Foxes
- Camels
- Storm
- Horses
- Griffins
- Panthers
Ballots were distributed to staff and students at all three(3) campuses and the ALS mascot was finally determined. Over 400 ballots were return and tabulated. By a large majority, the ALS staff and students selected, "Wolves" as the new ALS mascot with "Camels" coming in second.
As of October 2018, Advanced Learning Schools (ALS) became "Home of the Wolves"
